Brick fanatics has mentioned that Daily Mirror will have a new Polybag Promotion in September from 20th till 27th. The list features eight sets from different themes (city, star wars, Chima and Lego movie) and constitutes a nice opportunity for the British fans to get their hands on some really nice polybags.
It seems like the other times, there will be a different polybag on each day and all that is necessary will be buying the news paper, get the token and go to store. The only doubt for now is the retail’s availability, namely in Toysrus.
A couple of days ago I’ve came across, in my local store, with this new star wars polybag. The Imperial Shuttle, built mostly in a light grey shade, brings exactly fifty seven little pieces and a couple of interesting elements such as the moving wings or the couple of laser guns placed just next to them.
I don’t know if is a Toysrus exclusive but, for the star wars fans or even to the polybag’s collector, it looks definitely quite tempting. This mini-version of the Lambda Shuttle is retailing exactly at $4.99 and will soon, I hope, be available on multiple markets. Have a look at it:
Yesterday at my local Toysrus, I’ve stumbled in this new city Polybag, the repair lift. In my opinion these small sets are always a pleasant addition to any town and this one, definitely, is no exception.
First of all, I‘ve found this one exceptionally cheap, only 3,99 (most of these sets, with the same number of bricks usually are priced around five or six bucks….) which for an exclusive polybag with exactly forty pieces is not bad at all.
The repair lift contains the small yellow vehicle, a city worker with some tools and a couple of interesting details such as the small elevator built with a few technic pieces and the portable control panel that this time is really a printed piece! For 3,99 I had no doubts, it has joined already to the Light Repair Truck!
Just like other creator expert sets, the green Mini Cooper MK VII (10242) will have a miniature version, a polybag (40109) that will probably be available shortly. The instructions are already available in Lego database which indicates that soon we’ll see it on Lego stores or at shop@Home.
As it concerns to the mini, it presents the same color combination of the big model and overall looks pretty nice with some interesting details such has the individual seats in the interior or the five wheel spokes. On top, the white roof is also detachable for a better access to its interior.
Brickset has recently added to its database two new creator polybags that will be released next year. The Racing Car (31017) and the Monkey (31019) look two nice small sets nicely detailed and I must say that the new racing car that easily can be transformed in a nice competition truck definitely caught my attention.
With a nice color scheme, both (truck and racing car) are built over a structure made with a few technic pieces which automatically gives them a sturdy look. Another interesting appointment is the huge number (for a polybag, of course…) of pieces that is used, making this small set one of the biggest polybags of the last times.
Finally and having a look at the cute monkey, it also brings a friend, a toucan with plenty of color, and some really nice details, especially in its face. Continue reading →
