The smaller, the less interesting, that’s my first thought about the 2013 creator sets. The Horizon express, which was first known a few weeks ago and is shown right here, is obviously a world apart. Recently other nine sets revealed their set boxes, leaving only one, the 31008 Thunder Gigs that possibly will only be released in 2013’ second half.
The two most appellative for me are perhaps the Highway speedsters (31006) and the Power Meck (31007). The fist one is a high speed white car with some rather looking wheels that can be transformed in a tow truck or a sort of f1 vehicle. The Power Mech is a green robot that easily can be a helicopter or a small van. This one is surely an amazing and versatile creation.
This creator set is as usual a versatile kit with three options to build: a helicopter, full of nice details, a hydroplane and a nice ferryboat capable of transporting a small truck. With almost four hundred pieces, this orange set has definitely plenty of playability, a great diversity of building models full field with nice details.
Starting by the big heli, it is rather large, twelve dots wide, which makes it bigger than the usual city heli’s. The base of the models which will carry the landing gear it is build with technic pieces and will give the entire vehicle a solid structure. Once it starts growing you will see that inside there is no kind of space for anything, except for the small red car that I’ll talk later. Only the small cabin, at the front will be capable to support a borrowed mini-figure. And for that you will have to put it there first because once built you’ll have to dismount several pieces to get to the interior.Above the structure the big engines take place. Continue reading →
The new Lego train has finally been revealed. The high speed passenger Horizon Express, from what we can see through the available pictures, which clearly give an excellent idea of this train, will surely be a worthy successor of the older city 7938. The inside details and features were definitely improved.
As you can see, orange will be the main color, based perhaps on the first TVG generation. It will have about one thousand three hundred and fifty one pieces, the main locomotive and two passengers’ wagons as well as six mini-figures (four passengers, a driver and a train steward). It will also be considerable long, measuring almost eighty centimeters.Esthetically we can see that the new train is more realistic than the 7938. Continue reading →
Just like the other themes, Creator has already some certain about what sets will be available next year. Although it is not one of the favorite themes for a Lego fan, over the years, there have been some great and beautiful sets that easily integrate in any kind of town. For instance I easily remember last year’s release the Lego 7346, the seaside house or even the 7347, the highway pickup.
For next year, or perhaps next Christmas, it is expectable that some new sets will be released. So far, the known information, talks explicitly about ten set, two mini-vehicles which are a racing car and a jet. The other two include a bunch of different vehicles and even a new country house.
The Log cabin is a Creator House of 2011, with more than three hundred and fifty pieces. The house has three possible building combinations, as it would be expectable in this theme’s sets, and besides that, the set has also a small boat, one mini-figure and some nice accessories and tools.
The main model is built over two green plates and the structure is made mostly with dark brown pieces, recreating, that way, a wood constructions. The crossed wooden studs on the edges are surely a detail that reinforces that type of constructions. Generally the house is very simple to build and in the walls there are some good old vintage windows. The roof is built separately with a considerable resistance and it attaches easily on the structure.
