There were a few rumors since last summer that in the beginning of 2015 there would be a new Modular Building, rumors that are now were completely clarified with pictures of the new creator set, the modular Detective’s Office, a huge set with exactly two thousand and two hundred and forty six pieces.
The images show both set box sides and within, most of the details and features that the new building will bring, namely six new mini-figures, including the detective and her assistant, a barber, a paperboy, a new police officer and a citizen. The house has three distinct floors
that can be easily detached in order to give access to its interior and all its features, which is great in terms of playability. Just like all of the other Modular buildings, this one is also prepared to be attached to other similar models through a few pins placed on the side walls.
First of all, the detective’s office seems to have a few neighbors, namely a big apartment, a hair dresser and a pool salon, which are not only possible to see through the outdoors but also through the different colors that the walls have, giving the idea that instead of a single house, we are in the presence of two buildings! Outside the sidewalk has no kind of studs and shows a color scheme with different shades and of course some really nice details, namely a small tree, a street lamp, a couple of benches and a newsstand. It’s a pity that the set box back picture isn’t as clear as the front because it could show even more details about the interior. The Office is placed on the top floor, just above the pool hall, and just next to it there is the small barbershop in the ground floor with a nice apartment in the upper floors.
Through the pic, it’s possible to see, among other things, a couple of chairs inside Al’s Barber shop, a nice pool table with all the accessories in the pool hall, a small toilet in the apartment and a desk and a cabinet in the office. But I must say that it’s not enough to satisfy my curiosity, which makes me anxious to see some pictures with higher resolution!
Overall, this is another must for the modular building fans. The new Creator Expert Set (it seems to bring a new expert logo…) shows an endless list of details including six mini-figures which seems quite reasonable for creator sets and is absolutely a great addition to the modular collection. The price won’t be cheap, rumors mentions values around the two hundred dollars, but according to its size it seems quite reasonable. I can’t wait for more pictures and details!!
