The Fire Ladder Truck is a new fire vehicle with two hundred and forteen pieces that will soon hit stores, just like the rest of the first 2016 city wave. This pretty fire set features besides the vehicle, two fire fighters (a couple) and a few small accessories such as a fire tank in flames and a couple of walkie-talkies and extinguishers.
Three years have passed since the last wave of fire sets, so I think that there was a bit of curiosity about what was coming up, and looking at the first images, I would say that there are reasons to be happy.
Here we go again with pictures of nine new sets that weren’t available in the previous City post. This time, there are only pictures of Fire and Police subthemes and let me tell that beyond all the details and playability, the set box art is simply awesome.
The head sets, the Prison Island and the Fire Station are finally unveiled showing a lot of stuff to enjoy. Some of you might say that is more of the same but for those who didn’t have the possibility to get a fire headquarters or a Police building, this is a huge opportunity to get some incredible sets.
Lego has begun to upload images of the new 2016 sets that, according to the latest news, will be available not in January but, gladly, before Christmas. Among them, there are for now pictures of some of the new city sets.
Among these nine, that you can see below, I must say that I have different feelings about them. The Garbage Truck (60118) is for me a complete disappointment and not even that front mechanism convinced me at all. On the contrary the Ambulance Plane (60116) looks really cool and I’m sure that it will certainly be a must in terms of playability.
Last weekend, a bunch of pictures of the next 2016 wave of sets have been surfing in the internet almost on every place. It’s always pleasant to see the news, even if it is a couple of days later. And it was with mixed feelings that I took a look at my favorite Lego Theme, City, particularly on its head line sets.
The first disappointment is that, with the exception of a small racing boat, for now there are only available images about Fire and city sets. The second one is that among these my sudden thought was “it’s more of the same”!
It’s not the most enthusiastic set, however is a good opportunity to get some extra fire man mini-figures and additional elements for the town at a reasonable price. This Fire starter set has around ninety bricks and brings four mini-figures (two fire fighters, the fire fighters’ chief and a mechanic), a fire ATV and a small gas station in flames.
The Fire vehicle is probably one of the smallest that Lego has ever released, but in such a small vehicle it is possible to find a tow bar at the front, some handlers for the driver, that in the picture it is possible to see that is a lady and even a protection grid at the back for her safety.
